The inaugural function of TEDxVVCE was held on 13th Oct 2019. TED an acronym for Technology, Entertainment and Design is a non-profit organization which hosts conferences that bring together some of the world’s best thinkers. TEDx is a local gathering, self-organized event that brings people together to share a TED-like experience. The event hosted by Vidyavardhaka college of engineering was called TEDxVVCE and theme was "JOINING THE DOTS" . This theme brings in ideas and thoughts from across different cultures, different fields of study, unique individual experiences metaphorically called the dots, which when uniquely joined together, culminates into the change we need in our lives today.

The inauguration began by the Principal of VVCE, Dr. B Sadashivegowda who formally welcomed the gathering. The illumination of Mysore Palace also known as Amba Vilas Palace was recreated by the students of VVCE using IoT and was illuminated by the chief guest of the day Sri Sudhanva D.He then proceeded to address the gathering with his inspiring words. .Er. P Vishwanath, Honarary Secretary, Vidyavardhaka Sangha then graced the occasion and shared his valuable thoughts. Following this, Sri Gundappa Gowda, Honarary President, Vidyavardhaka Sangha delivered the presidential address. To wrap up the inauguration function Dr. Chandreshekar M Patil, Professor and Head, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering rendered the vote of thanks.
